The mediator reunion By: Meg Cabot

The mediator reunion
By: Meg Cabot

Significance:
This book was about how this girl, Susanna sees ghost that stay at earth for some important thing they left unfinished. Then she has to investigate how like 4 high school students were killed in a car accident, for which they like blame Susanna’s classmate, Michael.

Perspective:
Meg Cabot writes a lot of book for like teens. She writes about a lot of problems that teens go through but then she adds something that’s fiction like for example this book Susanna could see ghost I don’t think anybody could actually help, talk, and see ghost.

Evidence:
Susanna at first doesn’t know why those four high school ghost or RLS Angels, are trying to kill Michael but then she listen to them and they tell her the truth, that he killed them in the car accident. Because his sister was in coma, she drowned in a party that the RLS Angels held (when they were alive) and probably because of them she could’ve almost died.

Connections:
In real life a lot accidents (or not accidents) happen and the police always have to investigate who fault was it and why it happen and if was on purpose.

Supposition:
If no accidents happen I guess the world wouldn’t be as bad as it is, and they wouldn’t be bad people in this world which would be a really good thing for every one.

Book: The Joy Luck Club

Book: The Joy Luck Club
Author: Amy Tan
Chapter: Rules of the Game Waverly Jong

Significance:
This chapter is about how Waverly’s mom puts pressure on her to win every single game of chess she plays. She uses her to “shows off”. Because like in this case many parents use their children to “shows off” some times to make them accomplish some thing they never could have themselves. I think is really wrong because even though we love them doesn’t mean they could take over our lives we could do what we want NOT what they want.

Perspective:
Amy Tan, the author is Chinese. This book has a lot of Chinese traditions. In this chapter all the Chinese rules for chess, and tricks. It also shows how a girl from San Francisco China town lives.

Evidence:
Waverly just started playing chest for fun then she started studying and finding out why those are the rules of the game it got so big in her neighborhood that some on invited her to Local chess tournaments. Her other let her go and she started winning in all her games. So her mom watched while she found out new tricks to win games. Her mom made her brothers do all her chores while she practiced and every Saturday she goes with her mom to the market and her “shows off”, every person that stays looking at them she tells them “This is my daughter, Waverly Jong.” One day she tells her mom that she doesn’t like it when she does that and her mother misunderstands Waverly gets mad and runs away from them later when she gets home her tells her “We are not concerning this girl. This girl have no concern for us.” Waverly goes into her room and figures out her next move. I think she is talking about life how you have to keep figuring out your move to keep moving forward.

Connections:
There have been many kids that they do a sport for fun then their parents see how good they are and they pressure them so the kids quit. That has never happened to me (I think), like almost every other kid they still do pressure on us that we do well in school and our work and every thing. But somehow parents have past the line when they start pressuring you and you get stuck to do what you love but be pressured or quit.

Supposition:
I think life would be better for kids and won’t pressure us any more and maybe there will be fewer conflicts in the family. Or if you could change part of the problem them change the part where they pressure sure they could help out so you could turn out to be the best! But not make their dream keep it as yours.

A Child Called “It” By: Dave Pelzer

A Child Called “It” By: Dave Pelzer

Significance:
I care about this book because it shows how bad and sad child abuse is explains about he’s whole with his mom abusing of him, even his dog was treated better than he was! It’s important because we need to put a stop to this harsh treatment to little kids.

Perspective:
The Author is the kid in the book that was abused. So the author wrote about his experience when he was a child and how his mom abused him.

Evidence:
He was abused for 4 years since he was in first grade I think and he couldn’t do anything to get help because if some one called his mom because they found out when he would get home his mom would beat him ‘till he could almost die. I know this happened because at the end of the book they interviewed all the people that knew about his situation.
Connections:
Every single year lots of kids are abused. That’s why a lot of kids live in the streets because they ran away cause there parents use to abuse them. Now a day every year more and more kids are abused.

Supposition:
Life would be much less dangerous for the kids. There wouldn’t be so many kids living in the streets or stealing to have some thing to eat. Life would be better for at least some.

Best Friends For Never By: Lisi Harrison

Best Friends For Never By: Lisi Harrison

Significance:
The book is about a clique that is the most popular at their school and the 4 girls go though a lot of problems from boys to fashion. Anyways the book just gets me into what is happening because it’s about problems you go through every day.

Perspective:
The author use to create shows for MTV, so she probably got all her experience in that and discovered the life of middle school students so she knew what catches our eye. And what kind of problems we are interested in.

Evidence:
Two of the girls in the clique are mad at each other for liking the same guy and the main character, Massie is trying to keep them together while Alicia flirts with him and gets a new best friend.

Connections:
This happens to every girl their friends likes the same guy as her (that sucks) And I guess this book helps you out so you know how to solve the problem. Then also it helps out so that you know stick together and not get in a fight.

Supposition:
If you change any part of the plot the story be totally different and it wouldn’t have ended how it did.

Teen Idol by Meg Cabot

Teen Idol by Meg Cabot

Significance:
I care about this book because; it has helpful tips that can help you through the decisions you make through your life. It’s important because it catches my attention it gets me into the book because there are only certain books I will read like books that I can relate to my life so it could actually be important to me.

Perspective:
I think the author probably got from her experiences in high school to make the book, because it’s just about a girl in high school who is like the “mayonnaise” she gets along with every one and because of that she is like the schools unofficial consular. Every one goes to her with their problems and she solves them you learn new things like probably your going through the same or it might help you in the future and it gives the person who has the problem in the story and to you, too.

Evidence:
There are three problems going on:
• One of the students stole the teacher’s favorite doll that she treats like her daughter because she never had kids. And, the main character, Jen has to find a way to get it back. So the teacher won’t get to upset.
• Jen has to keep a secret from the school that Luke Striker (a famous celeb.) is going to stay for a few days.
• Jen has to help a girl who is like a wannabe because she is destroying herself to hang out the popular kids.

Connection:
This connects to the real world because you should always try to help out others. There are other problems that people go through every day and helps then out or if you ever are going to go through that problem it’ll help you out in the future.

Supposition:
If I would have changed part of the problem then it wouldn’t have ended how it did, eventually every one found out Luke Striker and one of Jen’s friends gave him his number and they fell in love, Now if no one found out about Luke Striker they wouldn’t even have met.
